Imaging Africa: a strategic approach to optical microscopy training in Africa

In January 2020, only a few weeks before the global COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, the Janelia Advanced Imaging Centre and University of Cape Town hosted the first Imaging Africa Training Workshop on high-end light microscopy techniques. During this training, important discussions led to the realization that there is an incredible need in Africa for transferring microscopy skills.
