Establishment of fibroblast and myofibroblast phenotypes for use in in vitro co-culture models

By using live cell imaging and confocal microscopy, researchers from the University of KwaZulu Natal characterised the phenotypes of fibroblasts and myoblasts in a co-culture model. The interaction between these cell types and the balance of proliferation, migration and differentiation of these cells is very important for studies of muscle regeneration.
