Time & Location

Jun 09, 2025, 7:00 PM – Jun 13, 2025, 11:00 PM

AMI Imaging Centre, UCT, Rondebosch, Cape Town, 7700, South Africa

About the event

The focus of this workshop is on techniques for both tissue and cellular immunostaining for fluorescence microscopy.

High-quality microscopy begins with robust experimental design followed by proper sample preparation. Poor fixation and staining protocols lead to suboptimal images, and adjusting microscope acquisition settings can only improve the results so much. 💡 Which fixative should you use and how long should you fix for? How do you appropriately permeabilise samples without destroying them? Can you apply the same protocols to identify different targets? What controls should you include? 💡

This workshop offers a valuable opportunity to deepen your understanding of the essential aspects of sample preparation for fluorescence microscopy. You will gain the knowledge needed to carefully plan your experiments and select the most effective techniques to achieve optimal results in your own research.

Applications close 2 May 2025!!
