SABI is a community-driven network of microscopy users and core facilities across South Africa. We aim to promote the application of all forms of imaging to advance life science and biomedical research.

Building a community and showcasing South African Microscopy

Welcome to the preliminary website of South Africa BioImaging. We plan to share exciting material here and to showcase the great work our South Africa Imaging Scientists are doing.

We want to connect all the talented imaging scientists, whether they are the new generation of upcoming scientists or the well-established professors, as long as they have a passion for microscopy and bioimaging.

Our Mission

  • Promote the uptake of imaging through training initiatives and programs to increase exposure and awareness of microscopy.

  • Connect imaging researchers for the sharing of resources and knowledge.

  • Advocate for imaging sciences to funding bodies and policy makers.

We are connected
